Projects
The majority of Polk County’s water supply is currently pulled from the Upper Floridan Aquifer, which isn’t sustainable for the future needs of our communities. PRWC will be drilling further down into the earth to pull additional water from the Lower Floridan Aquifer to help meet demand. This water is more brackish and needs treatment to surpass expectations for water quality. This is why PRWC is planning to construct water treatment facilities that utilize reverse osmosis technology to purify this non-traditional water supply, helping it exceed standards and meet future demand.
Alignment shown is derived from draft 60% design plans and is subject to change.
